Hiram L. Kelsey, born in Wheelock, VT on August 31, 1835, was the eighth minister in Hollis.  A graduate of Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, in 1861, Kelsey was ordained as a minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1865.  Following ten years of service, Rev. Kelsey was installed as pastor in Hollis until his dismissal (at his own request) in 1878.  He then moved on to the Congregational church of Brockton, MA.
