The sixth minister in Hollis, Rev. Day was born in Huntington, MA, April 21, 1806. A graduate of Amherst College in 1834 and the Theological Seminary at Andover in 1837, Day was ordained as pastor of the church at Derry, NH on October 4, 1837. Later in the July of 1852, Rev. day made his was to Hollis. A trustee of Dartmouth College for most of his life, Rev. day was given an honorary degree of D.D. in 1864. At the age of 63, Rev. day died in Hollis in July of 1869. In the meeting of the Hollis Association of Ministers following Rev. Day's death, they made a resolution to commend Rev. Day for his services to his town and church. |
